The infrared lamp tube produced by UVIR Company belongs to the infrared light source, which is a non-illuminating electric light source whose main purpose is to generate infrared radiation. Infrared radiation is electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength greater than that of red light in a certain range, with a wavelength of 780-106nm, and is divided into near-infrared (code IR-A, wavelength 780-1400nm), mid-infrared (IR-B, 1400-3000nm), far Infrared (IR-C, 3000~1000nm) 3 bands. The corresponding infrared light sources are called near-infrared, mid-infrared and far-infrared light sources, respectively. Infrared light sources are commonly used in heating, physiotherapy, night vision, communications, navigation, plant cultivation and livestock raising.
Infrared light sources are usually divided into three types: thermal radiation infrared light sources, gas discharge infrared light sources and laser infrared light sources.
The thermal radiation infrared light source can be a black body, an incandescent lamp, an electrified silicon carbide rod, etc. Black bodies are ideal infrared sources of thermal radiation. Because at the same temperature, the radiated power density of a black body is the largest.
Incandescent light bulbs can convert more than 75% of the input electrical energy into infrared radiation, which can be used as infrared light sources. Because the infrared radiation above 5000nm radiated by the incandescent body is absorbed by the glass casing, the incandescent lamp is a kind of near-infrared and mid-infrared light source. In order to make full use of the infrared radiation of the incandescent bulb, a reflective glass shell can be used, and the infrared radiation can be concentrated to the front through the aluminum reflective surface at the rear of the glass shell to further enhance the infrared radiation effect. In addition, a quartz tube-shaped infrared incandescent lamp can also be used as an infrared light source. It works on the principle of halogen tungsten cycle, with small size, high mechanical strength, easy installation and use, and a life span of more than 5,000 hours.
After the silicon carbide rod is heated by electricity, it is similar to black body radiation in the wavelength range of 2000-20000nm, which is a kind of mid- and far-infrared light source.
Coating titanium, zirconium, chromium, manganese, iron, nickel and silicon oxides, or boron and silicon carbides on the surface of heating objects can make far-infrared light sources.
Gas discharge infrared light source Some gas discharge light sources generate infrared radiation when they discharge, which can be used as infrared light sources. The spectrum of the xenon lamp is continuous and it produces strong radiation in the near-infrared region. It is often used as a sun simulation light source and a heat source for smelting special metals or materials; its infrared radiation is easily modulated and can be used for infrared communication.
Laser infrared light source Some lasers can be used as infrared light source. The radiation wavelength of yttrium aluminum garnet or neodymium glass solid-state laser is 1.06×103nm, which is a kind of near-infrared light source. The radiation wavelength of carbon dioxide gas laser is 1.06×104nm, which is a kind of far-infrared light source. Semiconductor lasers made of different materials can be used as infrared light sources from near-infrared to far-infrared bands at different operating temperatures. The laser infrared light source has good monochromaticity, good coherence, strong directionality and high brightness.
